Major walls in the old gymnasium needed to come down to make way for books - Nov 2000

The UNTL Library building had been used as a killing place during the orgy of violence and destruction that followed the Independence Referendum in 1999. It will now be a vital centre of learning and play a key role in the building of a new nation.

Serious problems emerged after the initial reconstruction of the building. This required that it be closed again for extensive repairs and alterations, only 4 months after opening for student access in late-January 2002.

New Library Building

Future Needs
