Subject List

This printable list provides a profile of subjects taught by Faculties at the National University of East Timor, as well as profiles of the University's Institute of Linguistics and Research Centre and specialist resource needs.

The list will provide guidance in determining the kinds of resources needed by the UNTL Library to support teaching staff and students and the University's research activities.

This subject listing of studies undertaken at the University is not complete as changes have and will be made, with subjects and faculties added, as the university curriculum is developed further and classes are planned in more detail.

A number of new faculties and courses have been proposed for future years including Health Studies, Legal Studies, Media and Communications, Chemistry, Physics, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Architecture, Timor Studies and Information Technology.

Timor Lorosae

A comprehensive historical and cultural collection of Timor Lorosae resources: histories, politics, autobiographies, cultural records, TV, radio and published news coverage on film, video & CD, photographic records, music and other archival resources of Timor Lorosae.

For those with archival materials, the Northern Territory University Library is digitising their collection of East Timor documents. This very important project will provide the East Timorese with access to historic documents and photos on CDROM long before there is the capacity to create a physical archives collection in East Timor. Please contact them if you have material to contribute.

Reference Resources

General reference works including world and regional atlases and maps, specialist and general dictionaries and encyclopaedias, language dictionaries (incl. Indonesian / English / Portuguese / Tetum), almanacs, chronologies, profiles of world history, handbooks & manuals, bibliographies (including bibliographic databases), and, in particular, language resources such as translating dictionaries, thesauri, grammatical usage guides and other tools appropriate to the multilingual needs of the university.

First Year Studies
